Dangerous chocolate

Late one evening, you and several of your closest friends stare at the twelve shells in a circle in the middle of your dining room table. Each of you selects a shell in turn, wondering if this time, this one, will be it.

It all comes down to this: Are you feeling lucky?

No, I am not advocating that you go out and play stupid games involving actual firearms and ammo. Especially after that recent unfortunate incident.

In this case, the shells are chocolate and they hold a praline filling. Except one. The twelth shell encases a "red hot chile" to mimic that other kind of hot round.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you:

Chocolate roulette

Maybe this should be called "indigenous peoples of the mid-Americas chocolate roulette" in honor of their cacao-chile combinations. In any event, it does seem like it would spice up your next party.

And it's got a great lede:

"Eating chocolate is not something most of us usually associate with raw, buttock-clenching tension."

I know someone out there will buy one and try it out. Please report back. For my part, I am going to try making this, because that's just me.
