this is what 12 minutes old looks like, just in case you have ever wondered... there's a second one now, and River decided to have them (literally) at our feet... there will be more over the weekend...and i'll post more too...
until then, please be quiet, there's sleeping kittens and a kind of worn out, and not yet done, River...
the rest of the cats are at Clare's place... (and now i must go back to reassuring River that those mewling things attached to her are really okay)
(updates and more pictures here)

Thanks for the memories - I had to go find the pictures we took when our kitty had her kittens!

It really is 'kittening' season! Oh such a beautiful one! I love pure black kitties.
Can't help but be in awe at this miracle. So tiny, so helpless but it will be bouncing off the walls in no time.

Grandma Tux is very pleased! Our most recent stray has just today presented us with three kittens of her own and won't let Tux near the door. She says to tell River, "Now you know what it's like!"
River's kitties are sure to be very special. (So sign up now, right?)

Thanks everyone! They are truly the most adorable things I've seen in a while. I'm trying to get pictures, but River dragged them all off into a dark hallway closet today, far away from my west-facing windows. Since I don't want to flash their little eyes, I'm hoping she moves them again soon.
Jess, tell Grandma Tux that there's a grandbaby Tux! The latest post has more pictures, including one of her.
